Otenki, a Houston-based alternative pop-rock band, has partnered up with Gibson Guitars and Riazul Tequila to offer fans a chance to win a custom Epiphone Les Paul guitar between Dec. 3rd and Jan. 7th! The winner will be announced on January 14th, which is the day Otenki is re-releasing their album The War Outside.

Otenki became a band when guitarists Enoma Asowata and Fausto Padilla, bassist Josh Tenorio and lead singer German Alexander came together in the summer of 2004. Making community and passion as their drive to make music, Otenki created a strong connection with their fans that led them to play the 2005, 2006 and 2009 Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour, where they shared a stage with popular bands such as Deftones, The Used, Killswitch Engage, My Chemical Romance and Thrice. They also were able to play at both the 2005 and 2009 Vans Warped Tour.

Their first EP Making Sense of Static became a success to the point where they got great reviews from Alternative Press, Buzznet, Ourzone Magazine and many others. From there on, they partnered up with producer James Paul Wisner, who has worked with Paramore and UnderOath, and released their second EP Kinetic.

Unlike their first EP, Kinetic exposes their blazing energy and compelling musicianship for well-arranged songs. In their top single “Ghosts,Otenki’s lyrics are haunted by the fragments of past relationships, which relates to many fans. Kinetic is the fan’s favorite album so far since they can relate to the message that is behind each song. Also, Otenki are one of some bands who wrote a song in appreciation to their fans (“Kinetic”).
