Who Are We?
Limerence is an independent entertainment media group focused on putting the spotlight on topics that are interesting, relevant, and meaningful to readers. It is too often the case that a handful of people are tasked with the entertainment of millions and this leads to a stale environment in which the entertainment loses touch with what is actually relevant to fans while running low on new ideas. We embrace independent artists and new ideas, providing readers a variety of articles showcasing the appeal of independent artists. Our columnists present information, advice, interviews, reviews, and recommendations that are free from outside influences and are in line with real community interests.
Why Do We Do What We Do?
What’s unique about Limerence is how our team works – namely, that we operate largely under the Community Company business model. We believe that each of our employees should have just as much say in our decisions as the founder of the company does, and we keep true to that. Our company doesn’t need to brag about being “equal opportunity”, because it’s quite obvious when you look at our staff that we take on people of all different backgrounds, religions, and opinions. It is one of our core beliefs that the little differences between people are things to be celebrated as those differences add interest and variety into our communities.
Our approach to environmentalism, too, is somewhat unique in that we believe in a practical and fun message when it comes to ways that each person can go green. There are plenty of other sources that have given you the scary facts about the problems we still face with the environment – we all know that many people across the globe continue to destroy rainforests and estuaries. A person who cares deeply about these subjects may feel powerless and frustrated by these facts as they are often problems above the individual person. By offering practical advice and stories, we hope to make the goal of environmental responsibility something that every person can do, no matter their income level or background.
And, of course, we also offer a variety of poetry and creative stories to enjoy. Everyone should have more art in their lives, and what better way than to do so than to read pieces written by writers of vastly different styles. Some of our creative writers are edgy, while others are more fanciful. We believe in keeping our creative writing team as diverse in writing styles while remaining committed to our central theme of independent entertainment free from censorship and restriction.
How Was Limerence Started?
The name “Limerence” is a psychological term that was coined to describe the mental state of a person who is head-over-heels in love. Though the Limerence team is not exactly madly in love with everyone they see, the name is meant to represent the most idealized state that a community could be in – a community that loves each of its members and seeks to protect and nurture each individual to the best of its ability. That is the community we are developing within the team and want to extend to our readers as well. There is plenty of intolerance and heated exchanged, so we’d like to add a little positivity to the mix.
